Ch9 Β· Watch Her to Choose, Not to Feed the Rush

← Back to Stop Driving Like a Bull

Sitting up gave you something you didn't have flat against her: the sight of her. Her face, her open mouth, her chest, her hips lifting toward you β€” all of it now in view. And the early chapters told you that putting your attention out there, on her, is what pulls you out of your own countdown. So you might think the rule is simple: look at her, last longer. It isn't, and the difference between the two ways of looking is the difference between the brake and the gas.

Here's the moment. She's climbing β€” her mouth falls open, her hips push up, that flush starts spreading up her chest. You're watching. Now: what are you doing with the sight?

One thing you can do is use it. Her hips are chasing a slightly higher angle, so you tilt to meet it. Her breath catches when the stroke goes shallow, so you keep it shallow. Her hand drifts toward her own clit, so you give her room or take it over. You're reading her to decide your next move β€” the watching has a job, and the job is her. That's attention pointed outward at a task, and it's the version that holds you steady, because a man solving the live problem of what does she need now isn't sitting inside his own body watching his gauge climb.

The other thing you can do with the exact same sight is drink it. Stop adjusting anything and just feed on how undone she's getting β€” how hot it is that she's coming apart, what it's doing to you to watch it. And the instant you do that, the view stops being information and becomes fuel. Her losing control pours straight back into your own arousal, and you're right back in the loop the whole book is built to keep you out of β€” except now it's worse, because what's spiking you is the most arousing thing in the room. The sight that could have steadied you finishes you.

So the line to hold is this: Watch her to decide the next move, not to ride how she looks. Same eyes, same woman, same gorgeous sight of her climbing β€” the difference is entirely in what you're doing with it. Watching-to-decide is a task, and the task is the brake. Watching-to-ride is absorption, and absorption is the accelerant. The moment you catch the looking turning from what does she need into god, look at her, you've crossed from the first kind to the second, and you'll feel your own urgency answer.

Notice what this is not asking you to do. It is not asking you to look away. The fix for a man who's overheating is not to stare at the ceiling, count backward, or think about anything other than the woman in front of him β€” that's the old broken advice, and it dissociates you right out of the sex you're supposed to be having. You stay fully here, eyes on her, as turned on as you want to be. You just keep the watching working. The charge doesn't have to come down. Your job is to keep aiming it at her body instead of letting it curl back into yours.

It helps to know there's something real in it for you in the first kind of looking, too β€” something you'd otherwise be chasing the wrong way. Part of what makes a man want to "ride" the sight is that watching her come apart is its own deep reward; being the one who undid her is a charge all its own. You don't have to give that up. You get it more fully, in fact, on the other side of this β€” when you're the one who read her right and walked her over, the satisfaction of having done it lands harder than the cheaper hit of just watching it wash over you while you lose the thread. Trade the flush of spectating for the deeper pull of authorship.

Practically, it lives in a tiny habit. Every time you catch yourself looking at her, let the look end in a decision, not a feeling. She arched β€” so I do this. Her breath went ragged on that angle β€” so I hold it. Make the sight terminate in your hands, not in your gut. As long as every look turns into a move, the watching is doing its job and your body stays in the room. The second a look turns into nothing but a thrill you're soaking in, you've handed the wheel back to the loop.

So keep your eyes wide open and keep them busy. The most powerful thing you can watch is a woman coming apart in front of you β€” and the whole game is whether that sight becomes your next move or your undoing. Make it the move.

Pounding harder makes you finish sooner and leaves her cold. The cure looks like doing less β€” sit up off her β€” and it's the best front-wall position there is.
